Engine prices...

Unread postby Henni » Sun Feb 02, 2014 8:04 pm

Hi everyone,

can someone please help with rough estimated prices only of the following:

1. Rotax 582 with gearbox, exhaust & starter.
2. Jabiru 4 cyl 80hp engine.
3. Jabiru 6 cyl 120hp engine.

I need to decide for a project that I intend to embark on.

Thank you for any feedback,

Henni

Hi everyone,

I've sent mail to the respective distributors. I should have these prices soon. Do you perhaps know of any other contenders in that hp & weight range readily available in South Africa.

All the best,

Henni

You could also have a look at: http://www.ulpower.com/
They have a local agent in SA

Hi LDV,

Thank you so much. I've already sent Philip an email. Awaiting his reply. Those look really promising indeed. Now I must just wait to compare the prices.

All the best,

Try these:

Apparrently Andrew Pappas is the local agent. Saw his camo aerie at the Zandspruit airshow and it is certainly a very neat installation.

Hi Mikev,

Thank you so much. I see they list the price at just over $12 000. A normal Rotax 582 plus box, starter & muffler works out just over R101 000. I'm now awaiting prices for the rest. So the choices are great, but it seems like the prices are not so great. I expected the little Rotax to be much lower in price. Anyway, I'll wait for the rest.

Okay, here are the ULPower engine prices for those interested:

UL260i 97HP E14700
UL260iS 107Hp E15800
UL350i 118Hp E18800

Now I'm only awaiting the Jabi prices & yes, I'm aware of the potential problems on those.

I started a project many years ago, but life got in the way. I hope to start another by month's end. Hopefully this time round I can see it all the way through.

Kind regards,

Henni

Hi Jaco,

Dis was my eie ontwerp.

Groete,

Henni

My doel is baie lig, baie ruim en baie eenvoudig. Daarom push pull pype vir alle beheer. Geen nodigheid vir inspeksie panele nie, alles duidelik sigbaar van binne en buite. Kontrole stokke ook my eie idee. Ek dink ek het nogal 'n paar goeie idees van my eie gehad daar. Hopenlik kan ek aan nog meer dink.

Dit lyk nie so nie, maar die een op die foto 4" breer by die skouers as die KR2. Volgende een gaan beslis baie breer wees. Mens hoef g'n so beknop te wees nie...

Groete,

Henni

Hi everyone,

Anyone knows who is the South African distributor for the Jabiru engines. I sent a mail to

'spares@jabiru.co.za'

with no response as yet.

Keep well all,

Henni

'Spares' doesn't do new sales, you need 'info@jabiru.co.za'. Occasionally they do reply to the emails...
