I see it's released. So who has it? Little steep for me right now at $39.99 and it's only the basic model :( Took them long enough :P

Still unclear to me how much different it will be from the advanced model but at $89.99 I refuse to buy that, so will prob never know. Not that big enough airbus fanboy anyhow

... and what a shitstorm this has produced!

How the hell can a company make this statement?!?!? The mind boggles!

"Although it was always our intention to release a completely bug free product, the realities of the current economic crisis effecting all of us to some measure, have forced us to reconsider and to release the Basic edition before each and every bug has been fixed. Although we are proud of what the team has accomplished thus far, we want to categorically state that, even though none of the remaining bugs are critical to product performance, we are by no means satisfied with the state of the product. We are absolutely aware of every bug currently unfixed in the Basic edition and commit to you that our team will not rest until they are dealt with through frequent updates via the AirSimmer Tablet PC. We appreciate your patience and understanding while we proceed to fix these remaining imperfections."

And then there is no upgrade from basic to advanced once it's released, you basically buy the one now for 40 bucks and then have to dig up another 90 for the advanced if you want that later

Like someone on avsim said earlier..EPIC FAIL!!!

Fair enough, but although I can talk from experience, I have a few friends oversees who have bitten the bullet and bought it, and they all very impressed with the various techniques used throughout the internal and external model - yes, there are areas for example in the nose gear bay where it looks like things may have been rushed. But from what I've heard the model (also from the screenshots I've seen) is very accurate and even the FDE is pretty spot on. So it might be an unfinished package, but it's still good (maybe a bit too pricey for my interest), and think of it this way, most other payware groups release a product (even when knowing) that there are bugs and simply provide updates or service packs along the way.

My 2 cents...

It's way way too pricey for me. I am a systems man, I love to learn how the different systems in an aircraft tie together and make things work. The more complicated the happier I am. There is however no way in hell I'm paying $90 for a flightsim addon.

Don't they severely limit their customer base with such a high price? I would have thought that if it's good and reasonably priced you will get more buyers and thus more money. As this now stands the advanced version, if it's released, will only cater for a very few hardcore fanatics and as a result a lot less sales purely due to a very very expensive product.

I honestly think their business plan is flawed.

This is a truly wonderful quote from avsim

In the end of the day, we all have only one vote, and it's our purchase. If you consider the flight simulation as a visual art, then go ahead and buy it, it's the best thing currently available. However if you're into the flight itself, stay away, buying this won't do any good to flying buffs like myself.

I agree!! No CLB or PROF option in the MCDU and all engine parameters are fixed. So what makes this better than the Wilco product? Prettiness?

I think the promised advanced version will be a hardcore simmer's dream addon but $90?!?!?!? :? :?

Of course it's the exchange rate that is screwing us, but to begin with their price is very high - that's generally why I am not so interested in payware addons at the best of time. Have you tried the freeware ProTeam Tu-154m for FS9? Plenty of complex systems, but in Russian! LOL

Yip, have it, love it to bits!!!!! One of the best aircraft ever released IMO. It rivals PMDG I think at the price is just right :P
