I sure hope they will be cheaper than Mr Hobbyking Pta (aka Junction Hobbies)....

Will have to wait and see by end Jan when stock is loaded.

Ah well at least we can still order directly for now....

I see there is a Hobbyking store front opening in Greenstone. Not sure when though.

I check their 6 cell turnigy 3000mah 20c lipos are selling for R670

If you order from HK

Lipo = $25.72 + ($25.72 x 0.14)customs + $11.925 shipping = $41.2458

41.245 x 8.6 = R354.7 vs R670 ?

The overheads here in SA is far too high, remember those oke's overseas do not drive Merc's or BMW's they ride bicycles to work therefore they can sell for lower prices  :? :? :?

Dunno how u got that. The lipo is R468 at HKSA. Good price, last I checked you will not find a similar battery in any hobby shop for that price.

I think signals crossed, Spazo maybe refers to HK Pretoria (aka Junction Hobbies which do charge R600+) and you quoted hobbykingsa.co.za price?

Maybe I am out of touch with prices lately, but from what I see on the new HKSA site I think with some items they compare very well to some LHS, and I for one might just have to but soem stuff from them. I mean a 6kg general use servo for lwess than R100-00, big cyno for 50-00 and 80 amp ESC for about 280-00 :D

Anyone know if they will have a shopfront where we can go , of so where.

Now I need to get allot of $ fast......lotta stuff I want

I see the HobbykingSA site is up & running... some stock appearing now. Just one comment: Is it HobbykingSA or "Heli-kingSA" #-o... Seems most items are helis?? (or am I my tipical tech-retarded self??)

No offence to any and all heli pilots... Respect to heli pilots! You are MUCH braver than what my wallet can stand

Hmmm... that site should come with a health warning:

"We are bringing the magic of HobbyKing to South Africa in a bigger way. Our normal is being replenished and more stock will be added in the coming days."

Then, on another page:
"We do not offer service or warranty on HobbyKing products that have not been bought through HobbyKing SA."

In the Junkmail: "HobbyKing SA, finally here!" So, is Hobbyking now in SA or not, as hinted in their ad? I find it rather misleading.

Furthermore, no street address and/ or telephone number in either "About us" or "Contact us". And they want my money before giving me the goods?

Nee dankie!
