What a Flying December!

Unread postby RudiGreyling » Mon Jan 05, 2009 12:32 pm

Hi RVators,

Wow what a fantastic flying December! After the coast to coast trip I stayed home over the holidays, but flew almost every day
Gave at least 5 new guys their first RV flip, hosted an american pilot and showed him a bit of the country from the sky Loskopdam and Groblersdal.
Flew to a couple of new airfields in an hours range, and stayed over one night at Zebula Lodge.
Got some additional Aerobatic Instruction, I'm practising loops now :P
RV Zulu 7 has now clocked 100 Hobs hours, without any glitches!

I love my RV!

Thanks guys,

Hi THI,
op die ho"eveld i.e 7500ft +
as ek vinnig wil gaan LOP +/- 190 MPH TAS +/- 32 Liter per uur.
as ek ekonomies wil gaan LOP +/- 170 MPH TAS +/- 25 Liter per uur.
op MOGAS.
ROP kan vinniger gaan maar dan gaan brandstof verbruik baie op i.e 40 liter per uur, so maak nie s'n vir daai laaste bietjie nie.

EAA visit 17 Jan 2009

Unread postby RudiGreyling » Tue Jan 20, 2009 12:02 pm

Hi RVators,

Well the EAA came to visit me and Angelo's hangar to inspect our RV's, see a short RV construction video, Eat boerewors rolls, be Merry, and tell Flying stories. We thought 20-25 people would attend...much to our surprise 44 people pitched in 14 Aircraft (7 RV's, 2 Savannah Skyjeeps, 1 Cherokee, 1 Cheetah, 1, Bonanza, 1 Samba, 1 Cessna 170)

Getting Ready for the RV construction Video

What A Flying Weekend

Unread postby RudiGreyling » Mon Jan 26, 2009 8:42 am

Hi RVators,

We had a lekker flying weekend :D
First up was the Fun Navigation Rally at Rand Airport. 3 Other RV's attended.
I am proud to announce that our (Ferdi, myself and RV Zulu 7) beginner's luck manifested again, and we won the rally again, making it two in a row . I am looking forward to the next event at Brits, hold thumbs for our hatrick

Then on Sunday savas came to visit, he is interested in the RV12, and he has not had a flip in a RV yet, something we had to remedy.
I think he enjoyed it, (he can chirp in later), but I also think I ruined his cessna 172 flying days
The RV12 apparetly feels and flies just as light on the control as the other RVs, so he had to experience it.

I Love my RV
Groete
Rudi

yeah Rudi, you have given me some huge problems :( that RV of yours is stunning, and a real joy to fly. The best way that i can describe it, is if anyone has ever flown Radio Control A/c......its like flying a proper pattern a/c as opposed to a Stik/Falcon etc, with obvious the RV being the pattern a/c. I have had yrs of experience flying pattern, and I can honestly say its similar.............. point it and it goes, turn and it turns...........all this with 2 fingers on the stick.
I had had a brief flight at OSH 07, but did not actually get to feel, what i experienced yesterday, i can really understand Rudi's continues statement, 'I Love my RV", i have a dilemma, I WANT ONE.
So , any takers I have a lovely '75 C172M, immaculate condition, really is , to swop for a RV7 :D :D [-o< [-o< [-o<

thks Rudi.....................for destroying my sanity.

PS
Am sure you could get a buyer for the 172 and for similar cash will get a nice -7. Then get CAA to approve Part 96 ops at same school as 172 was in and you will never get to fly it because it will be running at 100% capacity

Hi George/Savas

Building is a huge portion of becoming a RVator as well.
If you miss the building portion you missed "a right of passage" oppertunity he he..
That is why you find a lot of buyers, want to become builders afterwards. Building it exactly how they want it.

I love my RV, and enjoying it thorougly every weekend.
PS: Come to think about it whats on this weekend, I need a RV destination?

Groete
Rudi
