Indeed good music . The Buccaneer by McCully Workshop 1977. I used to listen to them live at the Fairmead Hotel near Rondebosch Station in those years. And what and where was that large old blue boat with the funnel?

Which came first, news of the Jabi or the proposal acceptance?
Women find Jabiru owners irresistible - so I guess the Jab came first :-)

Congrats on both counts Mark!

Thanks so much for the kind words - and the inspirational video....Raffles :smt041
I have been truly blessed in the last few days.
First some background - In the last few weeks I managed to seize the engine of my Peugeot 308 in Durban, then discovered that the engine of my little Jodel, 'Buttercup' needs new cylinders, and my laptop konked out - hence the late response, using my girlfriend's laptop.... (sorry Fiance' - this is going to take a while to sink in  ).
On Saturday I took a call to say that I had won the Jabbi 430, Mariaan accepted my marriage proposal, and, today, Dale de Klerk gave me a Limbach engine for Buttercup...…
My cup runneth over - and on Tuesday, I hope to successfully pass my PPL test, after 3 years of trying to get it done during my leaves from Mozambique.
Next Saturday, 14th July, J.L.P.C. Baragwaneth is holding a get-together to celebrate my recent blessings, and everyone is invited - please go to the Barra page for info on where we are.... viewforum.php?f=193

Drive, fly (note special joining procedures due to the aerobatic box) or crawl your way there.

Anyone wanting to spend the night is welcome to camp, or bring a sleeping bag....
Bring braai stuff, as much firewood as you can, and the bar will be open from about lunch time....

Of course we are going to try and convince you to join J.L.P.C. (the second oldest flying club in Africa), which will be celebrating it's 100th year (Centenary) inn 2019. But that's because we know that J.L.P.C. has the best esprit de corps of any flying club in Africa.

My return to aviation has been a lengthy and bumpy road - but friends, family and the aviators in SA have made it so worth while.

Bloody hell, it's probably only those Thai kids in the cave that had a luckier week than you Mark!
