The world's largest aircraft, the Antonov-225, is scheduled to touch down at the Hosea Kutako International Airport in Windhoek tomorrow. The plane left Germany with a consignment of medical supplies destined for Namibia and donated by the German Government. The plane will make one stop-over (undisclosed location) on the flight between Germany and Namibia.
The AN-225 is a six-engine giant that can load 254 tons. The plane weighs 285 tons empty. The pictures herewith shows the plane's progress to Namibia. She took off from an airport in Leipzig in Germany some hours ago, and is currently crossing the Mediterranean Sea in the vicinity of the islands of Corsica and Sardinia.

Avcommers in Windhoek, hope you get some nice pictures and a takeoff video.

Is there anywhere in SA that the 225 could land at?

Videos of it landing in Windhoek already doing the rounds via Whatsapp, so should hopefully appear here (via Youtube?) shortly.

It cant. Will have stopped somewhere thats outside of FR24 coverage so FR just picks it up as one flight.

Alot of chatter in a Soviet era aircraft during TO and landing, assuming altitude call outs of some sort. Subtitles would be great!
