Any idea what this could be ... looks like airborne out of Somehere near Rio and passing port Elizabeth now... interesting to know what it is and where it’s headed

Yeah, the 45,000 ft AMSL suggests that it's likely something like a G650.

Landed in Mauritius.
On departure from Montevideo and landing in Mauritius was using callsign “CUL”

WHy would MN925 on final approach (1500ft) climb and divert to CPT?

me thinks a longer runway, tech problem? CPT flight landed a few minutes before

Flapless landing apparently. diverted to CPT runway long enough.
Has this happened before recently with commercial airlines in South Africa?

Few years ago there was something similar, also a JNB-GRJ flight, 1Time with a leased 737-200...circling a while before diverting to CPT, but for some reason ended up at AFB Bredasdorp...was quite a media storm with the usual accounts of drama

Was a Safair aircraft leased to 1time.
