Airlink had 3 goes, 2 on RWY 08 and 1 on RWY 26, the S and loop you see Comair do was ATC vectoring the Comair behind the Airlink when they where trying for the 3rd time.
Thanks! I should have looked at the picture a little more closely :-)

Weird Flightradar24 experience

Unread post by No Fly No More » Fri Jun 28, 2019 3:34 pm

At 02h00 this morning I happened to open Flightradar24 and focused on Cape Town.
Saw 3 freight flights heading down from Joburg. Then I noticed a plane travelling north of Cape Town at a 21 deg heading, so clicked on it.
Hola .... it said that it was an Icon A5 with reg N715BA at 37,000 ft with ground-speed of 451 kt! And it tracked out of FACT ....
I followed it for a while and when it got adjacent to Calvinia, is suddenly disappeared.
How weird is that?
What's more, if you open Flightradar and enter the reg in the search box, it actually shows a flight ex-Cape Town departing at 01:20 on 28 June ..........

Was actually Kenya Airways B737-700 5Y-KQG , N715BA was its original reg in 2002. They have not changed the aircrafts hex code from that to a Kenyan one.

Lol this was me. LZR is a Sling 2 that belongs to the guys at FliteCare out of Wonderboom. Was doing Night Rating training so we were practicing standard rate turns and steep turns under basic instrument flying. I tend to fly her a lot, so if you ever see her buzzing around its probably me

Given how little time it spent on the ground I'd say it was a medical emergency or an unruly passenger. They got to Durban only 65 minutes late.

Yes it was a divert. Medical emergency. A colleague of mine was on the flight and confirmed with me that a passenger fell ill shortly after leaving Cape Town and they had to divert
