It has only just been placed on the Court Roll, I don't think the business rescue application has been heard yet.
How come every time my ship comes in I'm at the airport?

The AHRLAC has a limited military / law enforcement application unlike conversions of agricultural aircraft where the platform can be used for other roles besides COIN and ISR such as firefighting and cloud seeding

Once litigation starts between the partners everything comes to a standstill and talented people move on

With the whole SA Defence Sector the trend is not encouraging - From max employment in the sector of approx 130,000, that has dropped to less than 15,000 - Major pillar companies such as Denel are a mess financially and in many cases implicated in legal matters

Simply put if I was a Aero or Defence company with solid technology and IP, I would be looking for a exit strategy - Canada is a good choice as Canada is supportive of the A&D Sector which is a priority for both Federal and Provincial Governments

The modifications required to turn an agri plane into a military platform make them poorly-suited and too costly for their civilian roles like firefighting, so I don't think that's a market factor at all. I have not seen any AirTractor/Archangel/etc operator doing that or caring about it.

This is obviously really bad for the project, but if the clients are as committed as the reports say I think it might turn out ok in the end if the process doesn't get dragged out for too long.

Of course, I won't hide the fact that I want the project to succeed, purely because it's one of the few bright spots in a declining SA defence sector and I strongly believe that the digitisation and factory model they've chosen are the way forward for the industry.

It is sad to see a project that so many people put their heart and sole into it die

If there are technologies developed for the project that are world class and deserve a second chance maybe I can help

We are a technology consultancy based in Ottawa, Canada orientated on defense in the aerospace sector - In Canada there are many programmes that provide investment at both Provincial and Federal government level and we are positioned to steer our clients through the maize
