I'm positive the Ahrlac guys will pull the rabbit out of the hat and receive the refinancing they require. [-o<

A pity a few could not be ordered for SAAF and perhaps even border and fisheries sea patrols? And some countries up to the North these would be great for anti-terrorism operations - but I guess without significant decent orders...
The SAAF has zero spare acquisition funding right now, and by 2021/22 it's going to have its acquisition budget cut to essentially nothing. It cannot buy anything of any substance and won't be able to for years.

In any case, AHRLAC was never targeted at the SAAF as a major prospect. Their reported clients are all elsewhere.

Does the IDC provide funding for products intended for foreign military use? Anyone know?

If the AHRLAC got financial help from the IDC then the IDC take a lien over the IP

That is a BIG CONSIDERATION for any companies getting financial assistance from the IDC ; you then can't just, say for instance, move the design overseas even if it makes commercial sense to build the aircraft where you have made sales

Don't see why not ?
They did approach us once and I can't recall there being any clauses related to conscience.
We of course declined having any dealings with the IDC for various good reasons but they have sunk tax payers money into all sorts of questionable ventures in the past. I suppose that is what they are there for.
Who said the sky is the limit ? I think not.

I am referring to this Jane's article which states there are at least two: https://www.janes.com/article/83223/ahr ... es-aad18d3

As I said, reported. I'm not claiming special knowledge on this.

No worries, no nerves touched. Sorry if I came off that way, it wasn't either my mood or my intention, but rereading my post I can see it wasn't well-worded.

Just wanted to make it clear that if my answers seem cryptic it's because I don't know the details. I've been trying to figure out who those clients are ever since it was announced. :)

It would be a very good idea for someone in the know to update this public forum.....before rumours start snowballing......
I have seen the facility not too long ago. They weren't paid and the people left. There is literally no one there.
