Piper PA-30B -- engines

Unread post by KZNChris » Mon Mar 11, 2019 12:49 pm

More reading .......

According to Wikipedia this aircraft ( Turbo Twin Comanche ) had an Lycoming IO-320-C1A that was turbo-normalised by RayJay
NOW
Why are kit builders ( experimental ) not looking at this engine as a build option ? ( > 200HP )

A well regarded commercially operated engine with Fuel Injected Turbo Normalised AND ALL the work done by the factory.

A better option than a "RATEX" or a Titan or a converted automotive engine

What do the aviation engine gurus think ?

The only requirement for power in that range within the NTCA bracket are airframes which could not fly with even a Rotax 915. No Rotax comes near 160hp. What I'm saying is compare like for like
Commercial pilot,Instructor,Responsible Person Aircraft
Grease monkeyVLOS/EVLOS/BVLOS operator
TopRC HawkerHunter
JetLegend ViperJet
BVM F80 ShootingStar
WorldModels 1/3Cub
ZS-VVR
