Warmbath / Bela Bela Airfield

Unread post by nic2fly » Tue Aug 13, 2019 9:47 pm

I was the long weekend in Warmbath and pleasantly surprised to see in what beautiful condition the runway and airfield is. Also the warm welcome and willingness to assist with secure parking. Compliments for keeping it in such a good state, also to Braam and friends at the field

I would recommend to go for a flying trip and say hello to the guys...

Thanks
Nico

Hi Nico

Do you have a contact number for Braam for me? I flew into FANY the previous flight as I was told that FAWA's strip is bad. I want to rather land at FAWA as the guest house of a friend I use is situated there. You can PM me his number if you have.

Kind regards.

This is good news. Nylstroom is still a nice airfield and looked after well but the nearby community is creating problems for it although it is well enclosed. Will be happy to land there any time again.

Warmbaths runway has been revamped. Although it is only a slurry topping the condition is now good.
The club is active and committed to keep it up to standard.
Last weekend we tried out some make shift runway lights that worked fine. We will be doing night flying on a regular basis now. Should you require these facilities please give us a call to arrange the lights to be put out as we have not fitted them permanently yet.

Unfortunately Nylstroom is becoming a challenge with the neighbors. I am involved with both clubs but see more of a future at Warmbath's.
