General Notice
GA Pilot’s, Aircraft owners and Supporters
If you know of anyone or you, yourself, have any delays or no response from the SACAA regarding overdue ATF or N/PPL Renewals, Please email
jonty@promptroofing.co.za the following:
EMAIL SUBJECT - ATF and/or N/PPL Renewal OVERDUE
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your contact number
- Licence no or Reg of AC
- Date of application
- Type of application (personal lic or ATF)
- A short description with the correspondence of each attempt to contact them and the response (each line with date, and response will help a lot)
If you can add who ( the inspector or senior manager you trying to contact even better. The more Info the better.). We will take this up with the CAA
to expedite these renewals.
Note that all we are attempting to do is to is to ensure we obtain the published service standards – there is the question that the service standards are
too long, that will be a discussion for the future, right now we need the CAA to uphold the published delivery terms.

I just want to thank and recommend Jonty and Rob for the excellent support - within one (1) day my ATF (6 weeks overdue) was sorted out.

Do you follow up on type rating applications where the new type just never appears on updated file copies and queries just never get answered?

It's not much better with comm licenses.
Submitted mine 11 working days ago, the auto response says it would take 7-10.
When you call them to check they tell you that the email is a bit off and it is actually taking 3-4 weeks.
That is somewhat annoying, though it was nice that they actually answered the phone.

For anyone struggling with them missing the SLA for a comm renewal.
After the 3-4 weeks conversation yesterday, I mailed (from the contact list of the licensing dept on the caa site) the manager and senior manager, informing them the SLA was overdue and requesting it be resolved.
They responded in 10 minutes and confirmed my license was ready and I could book to collect, which I have done via the easy to use web-portal.

I handed mine in on the 9th. Also no word, so reading your post I phoned 011-5451000 and enquired.cage wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 11:54 amFor anyone struggling with them missing the SLA for a comm renewal.

They asked my licence number and confirmed that it was ready.

My ATF took 3 days last week from confirmation of receipt to issue. Seems the system is working but some not as lucky I have mates 6 week in and no sign of theirs

Re: OVERDUE ATF and/or PPL Renewal - POOR SERVICE FROM SACAA MUST CHANGE
I selected a slot today on Friday, got there early, no issues, no queue. In and out in minutes.
Was actually quite sad to see the place so empty. Usually chockers with exam takers etc.

You were lucky
I was there Wednesday and it was packed.
No parking what so ever. Had to find some in the street down in the business complex.
Collections had no wait though as 3 were serving.
Had a mistake on the license fixed in 15min
Was told the cars were all exam people.
Maybe they cant come Fridays anymore ?
