Any recent submissions for license renewal? Estimated timeframe to completion ?
Did mine last month. They couldn't read the attachments on my mail - some IT screw-up - so even though I had a case number they just ignored it.
I phoned after 10 working days, and the customer care team were great in rectifying - they had it turned around and ready by the following day. Wrote to the head of licensing and also very on the ball and receptive to feedback.

This was for the first issue of a card-type license, for my PPL. No skills test etc. needed.

So here is a recent experience.

I submitted for the renewal of my CPL Monday 9 May 2022 (around 15:00). I phoned today at around 11:30 am and they said it is ready for collection. Less than 4 working days.

Only a pity that don't let you know it is ready. In the past I did get a sms to state it is ready

Hi All,
Just had ATF done on my BD-5B after more than 20 years of not flying.
I need to emphasize the great help and service I had from Buhle George (CAA) and my friend Hennie. I had my ATF within two weeks after inspection.
Always a pleasure to work with them..

I am on 30 days now , awaiting my GPL /TMG renewal . I was asked to resend the docs, 3 weeks ago , in PDF format !! The person handling it could not read the text . Now today , Mr >> said it is not clear enough. He did phone me back after a few calls to him and a follow-up reminder email to him.
I will resend it again tomorrow .
Who knows ? but maybe by the time the thermals start next summer , I might have a valid licence . How easy it was, taking it to Rand , handing the docs in , having a cup of coffee at Harvard Cafe , and collecting the licence in a hour !!
Simply PATHETIC SERVICE !!.
So much to do , so little time !

Almost identical experience: submitted CPL renewal on 1 June at around 16h00. Phoned today and ready for collection. Also no notification. But more positive than it has been for a while ...
