EXCELLENT SERVICE FROM SACAA: WHAT A TURN AROUND

Unread post by CDW1 » Thu Jul 29, 2021 2:29 pm

Give praise where it is due. I have submitted my CofA documents on 25/7/21 to the CAA and it was confirmed on 29/7/21 it has been issued and ready for collection. Not even 4 full working days!!!!!
Thank you Kevin Chetty and Lebogang Manamela. Make us pilots proud! Keep it up.

Guys let me tell you that since my first engagement with Kevin Chetty about 3 years ago where he was assigned one of my airworthiness applications as a hospital pass when the now head of that department cocked it up, Mr Chetty has been the most amazing airworthiness inspector in that department and this was over 14 annual renewals that I was responsible for a few years at a previous employer. The best thing is that he is not alone, there are a few others in that department who are also fantastic and efficient. Pumi and Sam Kwena are also great performers

I rarely post on a topic like this, but can chime in and agree with the previous posters. We have lately had very good response times from CAA, keep it up CAA =D>

I supplied my AMO with the last of the documents they required to renew my COA late on Tuesday afternoon , and I have just received an e-mail from them to say it is ready for collection , less than two days turnaround.I was very pleasantly surprised.

I also agree with others. Working from home and answering e-mails after hours and getting the work done =D> =D> =D>

I was warned about long waiting time for our ATF but it was ready in a few days and we do not even have to collect it, the emailed copy is good enough.

Well done CAA =D> =D>

And well done all of you for giving praise where it is due. There it no better way to motivate anyone in their job than to get a well deserved pat on the back.

I agree with the sentiments above. Well done CAA! My license renewal was a breeze and the CAA personnel were very efficient and friendly.

....this is surely very good to hear and hope they sorted out the backlog to keep this momentum going 👏👏👏

Last year I waited 9 weeks just for a currency fee / renewal of my license. This year, with a million pages to submit for my license renewal I ACTUALLY GOT A PHONE CALL to say my new license card is ready for renewal - in less than a week!

Thank you SACAA for the attempts to improve and to Zola specifically for the call

It used to be done in 1 hour....? Our sheep like acceptance is the reason for this rubbish - enjoy the 2 trips bruh (used to have to deliver originals, dunno if that's coming back)

**note your AMO is the competent one, no regulation prevents CAA from training the floor sweeper to swing the rubber stamp. (the alleged reason for some of the delays is sign offs by a high ranking bottleneck - there is no requirement in the regs. also no need for assuming you & your AMO are criminals)

Agreed. We are all praising the CAA for processing a license in 4 days when I used to walk in, hand in my documents and after 1 or 2 cups of coffee I would walk out with my new one.

We have become so used to incompetence that we praise a 4 day turnaround.

What used to be 30-60 minutes is now 4 or 5 days and for some reason we are happy about this.
