Goose, just out of pure curiousity, where is that nice strip of yours?

Looking at the dates, I might just be able to fly out of Bots to come and see this, I have a serious soft spot for those old planes.

The film company Aquavision has been aboard since the start of the restoration project almost two years ago. A high quality action packed feature will be produced by them for History Channel or Discovery. It will be proper to first approach the owners - just out of courtesy .

Information for those who would like to attend the event
All enthusiasts and photographers are welcome, it promises to be a big and joyful event.
DATE: 30th October 2010 – (Weather permitting)
TIME: Will be early in the morning; make sure to get here in time.

We are looking at arranging a shuttle service from Wonderboom airport at around 07h30 and return around 13h00 for people that would like to fly-in to Wonderboom and attend this special event. For more information feel free to contact us at pieter@pbierbuses.co.za

For people that will be driving out, there will be parking available (follow signs), N1 Pietersburg highway north past Zambezi off ramp, past Petroport, take next turnoff Walmanstal/Pyramid. Turn left at turnoff and continue on road for 1km. Located on right-hand side of the road.

Refreshments and food will be available for purchase during the day. Remember to bring a camera, chair and sunscreen

I checked the runway this afternoon and would not even land there with Super cub with beloon tyres . Will keep every one up to date on the states of runway. This is a private airstrip it is used AT YOUR OWN DISCRECTION and AT YOUR OWN RISK

Maybe a bit of rain will settle it ?

Keep us posted, will use the Wonderboom route if needed, but would really like to fly in to the strip before the DC6 arrives.

Any news on the rumoured appearance of the Namibian DC6 for formation pics ?

Estimated time of departure at Swartkop 10:00am
Estimated time of arrival at goose's strip 10:20am
The strip is at S25 34 47 and E28 16 10 which puts it well within Wonderboom CTR, but close to the northern sector Waterkloof MTMA and southern sector of Pretoria General Flying Training Area 1. Saturday mornings usually pretty busy in that area.
Don't mix it with the six.

Yes the strip is very bumpy and loose but rain will help to settle the loose sand.

Thay will have to work on the runway's bumps, in my opinion it is not usable for the DC6

If the runway is in order to be used by the small aircraft they ALL MUST be on the Ground at 09:00(one hour before the DC gets airborn).
There must be no aircraft that could influence the DC6's flight parth close by Lets get this one home safe
