I bought this plane a few years back after it was in a accident at Swartkopz Airforce base. I am currently restorating it. Hein MareWingnutter wrote:Snapped this one at Krugersdorp either 1991 or 1992. Is the plane still flying?

WDW? I sold it to you...with a very sore heart I may add! Yes it suffered a turbo failure out of Swartkops while being flown by Uncle Brian who did a marvelous job of putting it down before the wall. Was supposed to be my conversion day. Unfortunately at the time the costs were just too high for me. How is the aircraft doing? Do you have any pictures? I still have pictures of you picking it up on your trailer at Wonderboom where it was stored after the crash.

Hi, not that is of much concern, except for me. Rob van der Merwe. I built ZS WEC, and have the best flying memories around PE.
I did just over 400 hrs with a 2.0 lt vw motor I built. It had a Stromberg CD 175 carb and and dual Honda motorbike ignition.
No flaps and fixed gear. I kept it as simple as I could and never had any desire for any of the modifications Serge did after buying it from me. Only pity is it is no longer flying.

Bearcat
A very interesting thing happened
When looking through the photos above i could
not believe my eyes of KR2 ZS-UKU
Yesterday i received my cancellation certificate for KR2S - ZS-WVL
And Namibia CAA gave me my new registration for the KR2S as V5 - UKU
So RSA and Namibia will have both a UKU registration
Both will be KR2's
but only the prefix ZS and V5 will differ
Am in the process of registration and as soon as i got my registration on the aircraft will post a picture
Below a pic showing WVL which is already removed and to be replaced with UKU
Safe flying
