Need help with Flight simulator (A320)

Unread post by Flytime » Tue Mar 19, 2019 8:08 am

Good day.

I would like to get a flight sim on my PC with an A320 on where I can use the FMGC and all the cockpit switches.

I am not a computer guru and would like to know where I can buy it etc.

Not sure what is the best to get? Flight sim X or Steam? Please help!!

Thank you.

Good day Flytime,

As no-one has taken the bait I will :)

In my opinion the best flightsim available at present (and this is a huge point of debate in the FS community) is Prepared V4, its a 64bit program built on the MS Flight Sim X platform (which was 32bit), you do get Xplane with amazing scenery and some nice default aircraft, but its not study level aircraft. If i were in your shoes i would not waste money starting up with FSX or FSX Steam edition, as it is a old platform although still widely used, if you are going to spend the bucks rather go new.

Regarding the Airbus A320, well you really only have 2 options, one is Aerosoft A320/A321 Proffesional the other Flighsim Labs A320, the latter is a study level sim, quite pricey at $130, the AS A320 also offers a working FMGC with most of the trimmings most swithes work, but not so system intensive as the FSL A320, but comes in at approx $75. If you are going to purchase any of these you would need updated Airc data which a subscription to NAVDATA or Navigraph would be essential.

If you have more questions, please fire away!

For the other members of the community, as I said at the beginning it is only my opinion.
Kind regards
Marius

This A320 is very high on my wish list - $90 so I have a bit of saving to do.

You haven’t had many replies so I thought I would give you my 2c. I support everything Marius said. I haven’t got the new setup, but I do fly Airbus and I have researched the sims and I reckon the package to go for is P3DV4 with FSLabs A320 sim pack with Navigraph for the FMC and I would also get the FS2crew setup it has just been released. Then to go the whole way Oculus riftS or (Track IR)- I have worked with the latter but the former is the future. Hope that helps reinforce the advice received.
