Tri-Pacer 150/160

Unread post by Willie van Zyl » Thu Oct 10, 2013 9:16 am

Hi All,

I'm considering importing a Tri-Pacer 150/160. Is there anybody out there that has done this and are willing to share his/her experience. I'm trying to understand the process once the aircraft is unloaded in SA. Is it a good idea to register ZU?

Thanks
WVZ

WHy not matby look for one here and re-build it?
I have worked, re-covered a few PA-22/20's and they almast alwaus need some airframe fixing when the fabric comes off.
This can become a tad expensive and it is nice to know about it before you commit to buying it as it is so easy to over capitalize on a PA 22 :(

I am busy rebuilding a 22 no and you are welcome tocome have a look at it for interest sake.

Hi. I am visiting SA in a couple of weeks and will be at Stellenbosch on 02 November. I own a PA22-150 and did a full restoration a couple of years ago. I am a great fan of the aeroplane and would be nice to meet you if you are around that day. I have been in touch with Stuart Burgess who is restoring a Fairchild at Stellenbosch. Let me know if you are likely to be around on the 2nd. Also would love to meet any other Vintage and classic aircraft enthusiasts

Rebuilt mine from scratch back in 2005. She is still immaculate and a lot of fun to fly. Hope you get one soon.
