Engine oil changes now required every 4 months

Unread post by Carel » Mon Jul 08, 2019 5:11 pm

Anybody else heard that Continental and Lycoming now require oil changes every 4 months ?

I used to change the oil in my Conti TSIO-520 every 6 months or 50 hrs which ever occurred first.

Or is this just for engines still under warranty by the manufacturers?
Advice is what we ask when we already know the answer but wish we didn't...

The best thing you can do for your engine, is to work it hard regularly. Oil changes at 50 hour should happen in less than 4 months.
