Johan van Eeden flies the Zenair with the 6 cyl Corvair from Springs. Eric Addison did the conversion.

Thanks for the info UD.
Did you buy Ricardo's engine ?
I spoke to Ricardo this morning and he would rather sell the Pietepol project with the engine included.

I will visit him on Saturday to have a look at the package.

After nearly two years of searching I have found and bought a Chevvy Corvair engine. I'll be collecting it during this week and start with the stripping and converting during the next couple of weeks
I will NEVER, EVER in my life believe any ad placed by someone in Boksburg.

I spoke to "Raymond" on six to seven occasions during the past two weeks getting info and confirming the address etc. etc.

This afternoon I decided to get in the bakkie, go there and collect the Corvair motor.

I spoke to the oke as I was sitting in my bakkie in front of the actual house where the engine is, the only problem is that the current tennants remember some engines lying around there six months ago when they moved in, but it was all removed by the letting agent. Apparently "Raymond" stayed there for exactly two months, did not pay rent or a deposit and was evicted.

This is as close to a scam I ever got. Told me to load the motor and give the money to the woman staying there!!

I still have my money and will now talk to Ricardo at Krugersdorp again!!

I work in a bank. And regularly have to tell a customer that we cannot reverse funds from an account to which he has made an electronic transfer in response to an add and has now been scammed. (in most cases the funds have in any case been withdrawn.)

It also happens the other way round. Mr customer advertises something, funds are paid into the customers account, the purchaser faxes a copy of a cash deposit slip and goods are released. Next day a cheque, which was drawn on a closed account at another bank is debited back to the customer's account. The "deposit slip" has been manufactured - photocopiers and computers are also useful tools for fraudsters.

Be carefull with these things.

Glad you've still got your cash, Johan.
