EAA Videos - hints for homebuilders

Unread post by Jayson v Schalkwyk » Sat Jan 15, 2011 9:49 am

Hi Guys,

Hope those that have been building over the holidays got some good work done. I have been slack on my bearhawk, but need to get cracking again.

Not sure how many of you have seen the EAA videos before but there is some REALLY GREAT gen in them. The link will take you to the homebuilders section, and then you can select different categories - General, Electrical, wood, fabric steel tube, and Ali. I have watched quite a few and even bought the sheet metal series (on a seperate dvd from EAA store). Here is the link http://www.eaavideo.org/channel.aspx?ch=ch_hints

Please let me know what you think and which videos have shed a little light for you. Some might even just show a nifty little tool, or how to use the tools you have if you are new to building - like moir.

Keep bashing them planes out

Been watching these for a while now. Saved them all as flash videos as I went along. I agree, it's a really great site.

Think I am a bit slow, but how did you save them? I am not sure how to do it. Will have another look

I use Firefox with the flash video/youtube saving add-on. Not sure if there is one for Chrome. Pretty sure there will be but I've only started using it a month or so ago and haven't played enough yet.
Once you click to watch the vid you go to the add-on at the bottom of the toolbar and you get a prompt to save the file. You can then watch it with something like FLV player or winamp. I doubt it if Windowzz Media player can play it. I've not bothered to check as I don't use it.

Hope it helps.

Here is a screenshot, it's the highlighted one.

The list of videos and subjects has grown.

This is still a great resource for homebuilders!
