Potch fly-inn breakfast

Unread post by OG » Sun Jun 10, 2018 7:21 pm

Ruben Bamberger is 4 years old and was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in March 2018. They immediately started with a standard chemo program. After a month, however, he had to switch to a high risk chemo-plan because he did not respond as well as expected. Ruben is crazy about planes and his dream of a photo shoot with the mechanical birds with the big wings has been brought to our attention. We call on all flying fanatics with open hearts to participate in an initiative to realize a sick boy's dream. We are planning a fly-in to Potchefstroom Airport on June 23, 2018.
We will serve a great breakfast, and all proceeds and donations will go towards Ruben's substantial medical costs.
Anyone, pilots and non pilots are invited to join us for a fun filled day.

Unfortunately no Avgas at Potch at the moment... :(

Parys is close by though and their Avgas price isn’t bad.

Breakfast from 08:00 until the afternoon in the gliding clubhouse on eastern side of runway.

Potch frequency 123.00 and parking on taxiway on the west of runway. Follow marshalls in snazzy high-viz jackets upon landing. I'll be manning Potch ground to monitor and guide on 123.00.

A short update on Saturday's charity fly-inn and breakfast. Breakfast will be served @ R80 per person, includes bottomless coffee. Children under 12 pay half.
Boerie rolls will also be served for lunch, price to be advised.
A cash bar for soft drinks will also be available. Credit card facilities are available.
ALL food is privately sponsored, so ALL proceeds will go towards Ruben's medical costs.
Bring your family, bring your friends. Its for a great cause

Some good news. Ruben Bamberger's bone marrow test came back yesterday, and the cancer cells seems to have disappeared. It would seem that the treatment was successful
