Welkom to GPS speeds.... it only polls every so often, and you pickup qoute a lot of speed from going vertical down to horizontal all sudden.
remember vertical down - 0 ground speed, then pull 90 degree and all the vertical speed (0km/h ground) converts to ground speed.. so you can actually "accelarate" quite fast

Hi Flying Mad

How was this recorded, and what motor /prop did you use?

I stopped flying ages ago, so don't really care if record has been smashed, just like to keep it real ;-)

What is the best and cheapest way of measuring the speed ?
I have a Funjet Ultra and would love to know at what speed it runs How do you measure it with a cellphone ? We estimate it runs at about 250km/h Do i need to get a "spietkop" to come and help ?
I dont like them that much ......
Keep calm and rotate !

Google Doppler affect or measure speed using doppler..

You simply record few passes close to microphone and record the noise .. (cellphone does work) Then you can download the program and analyze the speed using the noise

If you have an android phone search for RC Velox in the play store, it's a free download.
I've used it a couple of times, very nice doppler app.
