Headlines from the SAMAA AGM held on 30 October 2014

To all SAMAA members.

SAMAA concluded a very successful AGM last night. Full details of the AGM will be published in the December New Letter.

Headlines from the AGM are.

1. There will be no increase in Subs for 2015.

2. As of 01 November 2014, training for remuneration will be covered under the new SAMAA insurance policy.

3. The SMC has reduced the insurance premium from R78K to R21K per annum. Please contact Bob for the finer details of the new policy. basically we have
a) R20 bar cover per incident. Incidents with full size is now covered. Unfortunately, co-payment is up from R5K to R10K.
b) see item 2 which is now included in the policy

4. The SAMAA financial year will change from 31 March to 31 December each year.

5. A much closer working relationship between SAMAA and the Aero Club of South Africa will be developed

6. The SAMAA news letter will only be published electronically in future.

7. The matter between the SMC and Mr Peter Joffe has been laid to rest. Please see the attached two documents:

Dear SAMAA Member,

I would like to thank you for taking time out to attend our AGM last night. The SMC welcome and appreciate
all the input from our members. Please do not wait for the AGM once a year to offer positive and constructive
input. I believe last night was a success and we reached goals for the best interest of our membership.

Special thank you to Bob Skinner for all the arrangements and documentation that was flawless as usual.

Dit lyk alles na goeie veranderinge. Ja, die versekering bybetaling is verhoog, maar so ook die voordele. Ek is bly die dekking ten opsigte van volgrootte vliegtuie is bygebring. Nie dat daar sulke ongelukke aangemeld is nie, maar dit is waaroor versekering gaan, die onvoorsiene.

The SMC is really committed to bringing value to the members, after all it is your association and we of need have to ensure that you derive benefits from your subs.
Bringing the financial end in line with the calender year has its own challenge as we will be reporting for a short year and then a long year.

I want to have a SAMAA Flyin of all disciplines in JUly of 2015 and I want input from everyone who is interested to Fly In.
