Hi,

here she was ready for covering. So I did the 800km round-trip to Loeriesfontein, to the well-known aircraft builder, Boet Loubser. He would be doing the covering of the fuselage and tail feathers.

Here the fabric was installed on the fuselage and ironed nice and tight. Also the rib stitching was done on the horizontal stabilizers.

Damn, she is a good looking aerrie. Good luck with the rest of the build, I am looking forward to seeing the finished result.

Engine installation. I am also installing a Thermostasis to regulate the oil temperature more easily than duct tape on the oil cooler..

Installed carpets for the floor boards and sides. The floor boards was looking a bit dull with the varnished finish.

Also, the new center console and instrument panel has been powered up. In the mean time I completed the center console, including the radio wiring and Comant antenna.

I still have to install the visual fuel indicator and its legend in the center of the instrument panel.

Thanks for sharing the progress with us Induna, this has become my new favorite thread! I love the 3 blade prop and can’t wait to see this plane in the air.
When in doubt, gas it! It may not solve the problem but should end the suspense!

Thanks. The engine is slightly higher than the VW. This gives me plenty of ground clearance (about 10”). I agree that the 3 blade looks more “aggressive”...

Lyk baie goed, watse prop het jy daar op?

Wou ook vra, is die VW nie swaarder as die Rotax nie? Indien wel moes die Rotax nie meer vorentoe geskuif wees nie?
