An interesting spot of a Mango A320, registration ZS-GAL seen at FAOR on Thursday 8 November 2018. Interestingly, also saw a Kulula A320, however, wasn't able to photograph it (Seems like Ray Watts got a nice shot of it). Anyone know why both Mango and Kulula (Comair) are leasing A320's from Global Aviation when they both have fleets of Boeing B737's. Wouldn't that pose a problem with crew standardization and maintenance?

Edit: I see Ray beat me to posting ZS-GAL

It has been discussed on here before. Kulula and Mango lease these A320's from Global Aviation because they experienced maintenance delays from SAAT and didn't have enough frames available for their schedules...they also use it now to increase capacity over the upcoming holiday season.

They "wet lease" it from Global, meaning Global supplies their own crew to operate it, so no worries for Kulula and Mango in terms of crew standardization. Global obviously also take care of the maintenance (just like you don't have to worry who services the Datsun Go you rent from Avis  )
To most people, the sky is the limit. To those who love aviation, the sky is home.
