The plane was originally designed in the mid sixties by Aero Commander as the 1121 Jet Commander.
The rights were sold to IAI who produced it as the models 1123 and 1124 Westwind.
in the late seventies IAI developed an improved version and produced it as the 1125 Astra.

Then Gulfstream bought IAI, called it the G100, and have developed it in to the current form of the G150.
In the version of Astra/G100 it was a real performer. Has a high mmo, light on fuel and hence its 3000NM odd range.
