ZS-CWK was a 250 Comanche. Refurbished at Wonderboom by oom Willie Veldsman and delivered to oom Jub Jubelius at Kroonstad around 1997.

I say 'was' because she was destroyed (unsure if totally) in a post-EFATO fire at Kroonstad. No one was injured.

IIRC that was the day John brought HJF to have her prop balanced, if that's the case it was a Saturday Morning. He also may have dropped in to check on his Diamond (N362MD/3DAFH)

Hi,
I would like to know whether anyone knows what has happened to twin commanche PA -30 ZS - DUH. It belonged to my father Louis Steyn, he bought it in 1970 at Virginia Airport and he sold it 1971, it was then based at Marblehall.

Below is a picture of a Twin Com that Mum and owner are about to set off to do some IF practise in. This machine was exported to Ozz in the late 70's early 80's I think. There was also another Twin Comm. Mum used to fly and that was the Border Aviation's one ZS-DXL. I last saw this machine in Wonderboom when I was doing my military service in the mid 80's. The picture of the PA24 is not ZS registered but I was privileged enough to be allowed to fly it in the UK until the owner sold it. I will try find the picture of DXL when I saw her in Wonderboom and DVH sporty her Ozz reg.

Could not find my picture of DXL - will keep looking BUT ZS-DVH in her new Ozz clothes. Would be interesting to know if she is still flying today. I also came across a picture of SWE taken at Wonderboom around '85 and the PA24 taken at Grand Central also around the same time.

The Twinco that went to Australia isn't registered there anymore.

ZS-DXL isn't looking very happy these days - she is now a spares christmas tree and basically stripped out all together.

That is a real shame about DXL. I will see if I can find a photo with the reg but I suspect I may have chopped it in my other pictures. Sorry.

I came accross two Twin Comanche's during my flying days.
ZS-FMI in which my dad Okkie Momberg Snr did his twin rating in 1978, and ZS-SWF which we owned and in which I did my twin rating in on the 23 May 1982
