Anyone know the history of ZS-EVF - was a PA30 Turbo owned and operated out of old Vereeniging airfield by Victory Motors in the 1960's.
It was our treat on a Sunday afternoon when she arrived or departed.
Was it not shot at/shot down over the Ivory coast in the 1970's on it's way the the Olympics?
I do have pictures of her - will try to post - had a gold and black trim.
"My father was a previous owner of ZS-IKP in the 1970's. Conversion done with Scully Levin in the morning at Rand then off to Upington and Windhoek all on the same day.
Now registered as V5-JRT currently at Kitty Hawk."

I've had this Twin Comanche since 1996, based at Brakpan FABB. Can anyone give me some history on this aircraft. I'm hoping "happyskipper" can throw some light.

Hi, commancheza. ZS-EBE was the Sistership of ZS-EBF which was owned by Cecil Mark of Persian Carpet fame. They started a charter company (Cecil Mark, my late dad Vic Fouche' and my mom Marian Fouche') and it was called "By Air". The aircraft and company were sold to Rennies in the early 70's, and that was the start of "Rennies Air". ZS-EBE was probably owned by Comair at that stage. I remember flying in ZS-EBE when EBF was in maintenance.
Unfortunately I don't have any more info, and searching on the internet reveals nothing.

Is ZS-EBE still airworthy? If so I would love to make arrangements to bring my mom up to FABB and have a flight in her. My mom used to fly with my dad often, and, although she didn't have a license, used to pole the aircraft on long sectors.... :)

Hi Mark, unfortunately CAA has withdrawn the C of A because she was standing in the hanger and had missed the MPI. I intend getting her back in the air even if I have to go the ZU route. It has new flight and engine panels with quite a lot of good and new pre glass equipment. Will keep in touch and glad to give your Mother a flight. I bought her through MultiAir at Wonderboom, She was previously owned by Lowveld Aircraft Services. My log books only go back to 1984, I was unsuccessful in getting the earlier log books. A beautiful aircraft to fly on long legs.

My heart breaks for this once beautiful 250. I took these pics on 25 October 2014. ZS-MPK has been standing like this at FAWB for 5 years, more or less, now.

Some pics and one of what is left of Pretoria Flying School
