Just a question to the regular contributors here: Very few night shots. Is this because you are 6 to 6 ‘ers, or there is no good shots at night or good shots at night are sh it difficult. I have seen some spectacular nightshot “opportunities” at most airports but don’t have the equipment, access or know how to capture it.

Hello Wonko

In South Africa night photography depends on the three things some of which you have already mentioned.

1) Access, do you have the required access to airfields after hours?
This is usually limited to ops personnel.

2)opportunity, do you have the opportunity to photograph the subject?

3)Equipment, do you have the right equipment with you to take the photograph?

in contrast Museums oversea's will arrange special night shoots for photographers....

Paint scheme is 100% correct for Harvard 7480 when it was used by 6 Sqn based at Port Elizabeth.

No fuselage panel, fin flash, number's under the wing's, Springbok Castle only on the fuselage.
Number 7480 in 8" numerals on the rear of the fuselage only.

This is one of the 5 "dayglo" schemes that was used by the SAAF.

The 185s parked behind the hanger are now all gone. They departed in mass +- 2 weeks ago. All have gone to their respective new owners.
