maar n kombinasie van water verf slurry om paneel lyne the "wash" en ek gebruik meestal chalk pastels en die airbrush vir weathering soos gun smoke en exhaust stains. chipping op looplakke gebruik ek net silver verf en n fyn kwassie.

Something which I have found to work nicely for weathering, especially that black sooty look that the panels close to the exhausts get, and also the black and brown dirt and grime on the undersides of jets is normal dust from pencil shaivings. I sharpen a pencil into a little plastic container and then I use a brush to apply the dust. I blow off the residue and repeat until I get the depth of colour that I want. Then I seal it in with a matt or satin clearcoat later.

I am doing the revell 1/48 Albatross d%. Wood effect is acrylic desert yellow with brown enamel dribrushed over it. A slight oraneg clearcoat will give a nice plywood look.

On the WW1 fabric silver dope was rarely used and if a dark color was painten ontop of the wing with a light base color the outline would cast a shadow onto the bottom wing fabric but highly defused.

Very nice model. Good to hear that a 17 year old is building models, keep it up!

I completed the basic fuselage wood and cowl paint, just need to toutch up some of the little pnnels.
The wing was still to bland to my taste so I used oil paints to simulate the rib tapes.
