25,4" Infant 60 build

Unread post by Tomcat1 » Tue Aug 04, 2020 9:19 am

I've been itching to build this one for some time now...well actually since I got the Ben Buckle Super 60 kit. I could no longer resist and got started (another evening bedroom build 8-[ )

The plans call for 1/16 wire for undercarriage but I went for .8mm. The wheels are what I had in my stock and had to have dowel bushes inserted to fit the .8mm wire, however they look rather "bush plane" style on this little bird. I will see where the balance point is after completion and if they are too heavy I'll turn a new set from laminated 3mm hard balsa and make them a bit thinner

This all was 2 evenings and an afternoons work so stay tuned as this one will be quick

Weigh in with center section shows an extra 2g but I think the nails holding it in place take up .8g of that 2g

Also decided to go with a set of smaller wheels I had, the big ones just don't work for this size aerie [-( [-( [-(
Went for the smaller wheels on this one.jpg

The Infant is complete and just waiting for a Hitec Minima 6L 4g receiver, then set up and ready to go.

Through this one together while finishing off the Infant too. Was given the kit with radio, receiver, servo's etc. by Mike Sparletta, we used to fly gliders together at PRF when they were still down Lynwood rd. Thanks a million Mike, now I have another parky to maiden
