Airband Radio and Base Operators Licence

Unread post by Jacdev » Mon Oct 22, 2018 10:30 am

I completed my Base Operator course last year - the licence was issued by Kishugu. Does this limit me to only communicate with Working on Fire helicopters on their private frequency, or can i communicate with other private service providers in the fire fighting industry (I am a leader of a ground crew that operates throughout the Western Cape)?

Does the base operator licence then allow me to purchase and use a Airband radio legally, or do I need to go for further training to allow me to own and operate a Airband radio to communicate with aircraft?
