I have been requested to provide names and contact details of stakeholders to be invited to attend a meeting with ICASA's CEO and other senior staff in the Durban area on Thursday next week in the evening (time and venue TBA). It would be nice if all interested parties could attend, however, space is unfortunately limited to +/- 50 persons so individual attendees cannot be catered for at this stage. With this in mind, it would be appreciated if members of recognised organisations involved in the aeronautical industry, e.g pilot associations, organisations involved with the inspection of aircraft on behalf of DCA, communications equipment suppliers, etc., could provide contact details for no more than 2 representatives from each body to be contacted by ICASA HQ in Joburg with further details. Topics for discussion, whilst not intended to deal specifically with aeronautical matters, will include discussion on how ICASA can better interact with stakeholders regarding improving services, problems experienced with current service levels and suggestions for improvement, licensing matters with regard to modern equipment and services, and so forth. It is hoped that a broad cross-section of organisations involved in the telecommunications industry, including the various enforcement agencies, will be represented to enable us to hold the fullest discussions possible. As mentioned above, this meeting will be for respondents in, or within easy reach of, the Durban area but, if successful, may be extended to other regions at a later date.
