Decided to finish the rear spar assembly for the left wing. Major issues. Either i have messed up badly or the factory has messed up big time . I really dont know whats going on here but the rear spar channel extension does not fit. I have 4 to try from all of them are the same. Am I missing something here. Look at these pictures maybe someone else sees something I am not but from what Im seeing it looks like the bend angle of the channel is ass about face.

Ok,

So we found the issue . The rear spar bend is incorrect its ass about face where the 90 deg bend is supposed to be at the bottom and the angle on top its the other way round. Compared this to another spar. See for yourselves in the attched photos.

Wing Angle 7 on Rib 4 on both left and right wing has been bent incorrectly. Confirmed the measurements with the Factory. Sideslip again assisted today with replacing these two brackets so the job can continue. Did the left wing and test fitted the rib all good now.

Today received the Engine mount for the Jabiru Engine....And a Timex Rotax 912 ULS which will be overhauled and sold. Maybe with EFI or Big Bore kit still trying to decide what to do.

The engine will be zero timed with parts and crank supplied from Edgeperformance in Norweigh . Crank is X-Factory

Wanted to finish the Right wing this weekend but ran out of Cleoco's so will continue during the week. Also started stripping the 912 for overhaul as the crank and other parts needed will be here later this week.

so turned the wing over , marked up where the inspection hatches needs to be . Checked the position of the brackets for the long range tanks, removed the old tie down bracket then went back to stripping a Rotax engine..

So wanted to finish up the testing of the tanks but surprise no luck as there is an issue. Rib 117 on the extended fuel tanks has been damaged by the tooling , see for yourself. This will have to be repaired in place as removing it is not an option.

So after speaking to a few people and not doing what the factory wanted me too do we installed the doubler on the inside. We had to cut an access hatch to the back channel of the tank to install the double from the inside , worked out well.
