Installed a fuel line only to find the fitting is too long so now need to make a plan also had to route the breather from the main tank through the bracket to avoid the fuel line from the auxiliary tank,,,,what a bitch of a job

Finally. Both tank right wing done and installed. Tomorrow need to pull the tanks up with a web sling and ratchet to final position so they can be riveted in place. I hope the left wing goes a bit easier this was a bunch of heart ache swearing. I think I had these tanks on and off about 4 times....never forget..

Well almost done , wing is straight came out great next one will be easier. Match drilling is the way to go takes a bit longer but you have no ripple or wave in the skins as its not under tension when you eventually rivit. Thinking of sealing all the rivet heads as well . Going to do a test run on a piece of metal and see how long it actually takes and the work involved. There are a few people doing this but rather doing ones self and see the result.

Hi Checkride,
The wing seems a work of art! Well done.... but please explain the post of balls up from before? How did you rectify the problem? I assumed it was the TAF supplying wrongly drilled or bend parts that ended up being asymmetrical but I am green behind the ears as far as plane building goes. Thanks!

The rear spar section of the right wing was incorrect. The bends were opposite to what they should of been. TAF replaced the part and work continued. How it happened really not sure. Also the drawings for bracket positions for the auxiliary tanks were not clear at all. These tanks are not production units so as far as documentation is concerned a lot still needs to be sorted out. After many emails and photos finally managed to get everything sorted. The tank for the left wing went into position just perfect.

Im assuming this is what you talking about....

Ok,

Been a while this is the progress on the left wing. Should be done and dusted hopefully tomorrow. Just need to complete riveting the top skins, flip the wing over and complete the riveting for the main tanks....remembering.. [-o< [-o<

Threads been a bit quite but have been busy doing the inventory for the fuselage. A few skin ( 5) were damaged so these had to be replaced first. All the parts have been hung on my pin board so all things being equal might start the fuselage this week still.
Have work to do on our jabiru. Designed templates to make a full cooling plenum so want to get this installed and tested as well plus the new ECU arrived which is really for the Sling but will be tested on our jab first. This will control the EFI. Ignition and the turbo. :D :D
