Just a reminder of the Nationals at Klersdorp next week.

Saturday will be worth watching for those interested to fly in. Expect possible delays. Or you might need to join on Base leg and stay clear from the aerobatic box at all times.

Saturday program will be second Unknowns for inter mediate, Advanced and Unlimited . Most important contest in the afternoon will be the 4 min Free Style between Nigel Hopkins, Barrie Eales and myself.

The 4 min Freestyle is a mini Airshow routine with 4 min time window, smoke, lots of gyroscopic maneuvers and right in your face performance.

I won't be joining now, but Schalk wants to.

But Graduates can take part and get at least the Graduate rating (from Graduate(p)) at Nationals ?
Providing obtaining 70% of course?
Or can one only obtain Graduate rating at Regionals?

Hi Paul, off the SAC website rules section

Programmes to be flown at Contests & Championships
In general terms the CIVA Regulations will apply to the Unlimited, Advanced & Intermediate/Yak52 classes, the remaining classes will be as follows:
a) Sportsman/LSA, Classic & RV Aircraft
The minimum programmes that can be flown at the National Championship to declare a class Champion is two.
b) Light Sport Aircraft will operate within the Sportsman Class, where three such aircraft are entered into a contest, a separate Sub-Category may be established.
) Graduate may be flown at a contest as part of the SAC aerobatic rating training scheme, Graduate’s may only fly at the Nationals to warm-up the Judges, scores may be counted in the award of their ratings in terms of the SAC training scheme.

Not at all! Very welcome! Obviously be aware that the aerobatic box to the west of the runway in the mornings and the east of the runway in the afternoons will be active. The airfield frequency 123.5 will be monitored. Expect a "non standard" circuit pattern.

The best day is Saturday, should start around 0900 and end by 1500. The weather for Saturday looks good!
