There's an application in government gazette from 30 June by Airlink to add Category A1 aircraft for operating at JNB, CPT, DUR, MQP and GRJ...will this indicate that CPT-MQP and CPT-GRJ might be first for these aircraft (if this A1 is for E190 I presume?)

Hi grjplanes.

As far as I understand, A1 relates to aircraft above 20tons, of which the E145 and RJ already qualify.

Domestic Air Service Regulations 1991:
" The categories of aircraft are–
(a) category A1 – any aircraft, excluding a helicopter, with a maximum certificated mass exceeding 20 000 kilograms;"

You should see this thing climb out from FAPM -- like a home sick Elon Musk rocket on the way to MARS :)

Anyone know why it's still only this one aircraft operating (ZS-YAA)...while there is at least another 2 E190s already delivered as well.

On the ERJ140, interesting to see the new PRY-CPT schedules with all ERJ140 flights operating...seems to be first route with dedicated ERJ140 flights...does this aircraft have better performance out of Wonderboom vs the ERJ135 then?

Maybe don't have enough crew rated on the E190 yet. Not the same rating as the ERJ.

I think the ERJ135 has the same engine and thrust as the ERJ140, so I would assume that the ERJ135 would have better take-off performance at PRY for the same payload.

I don't quite understand what you mean, they'll have more payload with the ERJ140, which they'll be using at PRY...if the ERJ135 is better then that is exactly why I'm asking why Airlink are using the ERJ140 instead of ERJ135

Just for some enlightenment. .......The ERJ140 was designed for the US market, and the FAA type certificate calls it an ERJ140.
The state of origin, Brazil, and the ANAC type certificate deems it an ERJ135KL.
