GL's reply to tansg's initial post is a perfect example of the misconceptions that form the basis of this and the Cemair thread. As said by a few industry insiders now, the regulator regulates and unless there is clear proof of bias, the default assumption should be that the regulator is acting in good faith and according to its mandate.

On Avcom, the default assumption is that the regulator is biased. It is one of the biggest reasons why people in the know do not bother to post here and why Avcom regulars tend to convince themselves that they are right.

How many posters who contributed real value have been chased away from this forum over the years?

That's because many participants here do not really know the facts yet purport that they do. It amazes me more that so many say that they have no horse in the race yet they become angry with each other when other opinions are expressed. Its really about the indignation some suffer when not everybody agrees with their stance on a matter. Its not isolated to Avcom, its an online forum thing.
