Nah, come now Theuns, you've put all this effort into it so do it justice and get the offset tail drive unit
By the way, what will the price range be for these fuselages?

yes, but where do I get a reliable one from :?

That is a damn good question, I have not done the sums yet, I will have to do some reserch to see what something comprable goes for.
I will not rip people off but damn I am not going to do the "avcom 20% of value" thing either.
Like with the Bell 222's I mold I will give the option of raw glass fuse or painted.

Will keep you posted.

Hoping to get to work on the plug again within the next few days...

I have been trying to source a raised tail boom for a scratch built Huey on a HK 450 clone with belt drive tail. Here a couple links to advertised units.

http://www.heliartist.com/showroom/heli ... p-113.html
http://www.heliartist.com/showroom/heli ... p-108.html

This link is for a complete scale body that includes the raised tail hardware.
http://www.scaleflying.com/UH1-B-Fiberg ... p_783.html

This link is for a 500 size geared unit.
http://www.scaleflying.com/Raised-Tail- ... _3822.html

Scaleflying had a 450 size belt drive unit some time ago but I haven't seen it for a long time and no response to enquires.

It also depends on the particular model with regards to the angle of the raised tail. I have been considering making my own unit but am not sure how I would source a belt to fit.

Any ideas or thoughts?

If I could lay mt hands on a belt that is 80mm longer it would be an easy thing to build, but where do I find a belt like that???

I could not fill and sand well enough with the reccessed framing so I filled it. Besides the real one has flush fitting windows that slightly buldge outwards. I will have them formed from clear plastic and then the frame can be cut from the fuse and clear installed from the inside.

Theuns, I admire your work - well done.

Regarding a longer belt....the stock TRex450 (450SEV2 / 450 Sport) belt is a 397MXL timing belt (mini timing belt). You can download a Gates (Powergrip) catalogue and you should find a longer length is available, e.g. 4xx MXL.
