All of my experiences with Victor / Swissboy have been great

Unread post by stuarthiggs » Sat Sep 11, 2021 1:13 pm

I've bought a few planes and an engine from Victor over the last months - he's arranged transport for the planes up to Joburg for me and the engine worked like a charm first flick.

While things can go wrong and I don't know the details of these 2 cases, I can't accept that it is fair to brand him "dishonest" and "despicable" when my own personal experience (on more transactions) has been excellent.

Carb seized? That is very unusual. Are your sure it is not just gummed up with castor oil?
Bearing siezed? Also seems strange. Again I would suspect castor oil gummed up. ( you saying siezed, not worn)

I'm assuming it is the ASP four stroke engine. If so bearings are most definitely available.

I think that engine could easly be made to run if what you say is true that the bearings and carb are siezed and glow plug thread is stripped. Saying it can only be used for a paperweight seems a bit dramatical.

Dear Trevorn,
You miss the point entirely!
I was told by the seller that only the stripped glow plug thread needed attention!
The diagnosis of the undisclosed problems were made by a professional in the industry.

I would agree with this sentiment.
The guy has a long track record on AVCOM with few complaints.(this is the first I am aware of)
What he is doing is giving a certain kind of modeler access to equipment that is difficult to access, and becoming harder to source. He is doing something a dealer cannot do.

I don't see the OP using the words "Dishonest" "or "Despicable". I see the word "Misrepresentation". Am I missing something???
In my honest opinion, if the motor did not have a glow plug in, it should have turned over easily by hand. If it did not, the seller should have stated so in his post.

Thanks for the enlightenment. I see the OP says that the seller has tried to remedy the situation:
"Has the buyer/seller attempted to remedy the issue: Yes"
If he has, why then the post?
