Passed away date: 14th November 2009
Details of passing: During an air display at the annual Overberg Air Force Base fly-in, the Electric Lightning that Dave was flying suffered hydraulic problems. While burning off fuel, it crashed in a ball of flame killing the pilot. Thread here: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=54985

The great Dave Stock. Thanks for posting a Notice for him. I would have sworn he would never die in an aircraft, but all the nasties lined up against him that day. I was privileged to fly with him quite a lot and cannot see a Lightning or Hunter, or that blue and white Mirage F1 at Swartkops (which he wanted to own) without thinking of him. RIP
