New Jabi Pilot

Unread post by DawieBotes » Tue Jun 14, 2016 7:14 pm

Hi,

Just a quick intro. Joining the world of Jabiru pilots as I've joined a partnership in a Jabi. Will be around and ask a lot of Q's and learn as well. Just got to complete my PPL test this week and then do conversion to JABI.

Question, how long does a conversion take? How many flights? Doing PPL on a Sling, but have been hands on control of the Jabi, and they're really similar.

See ya all at a meet I'm sure :D

Don't rush it. You need to feel comfortable with the jabi. I know some very experienced pilots that flew more than 10 hours with instructor before he felt convinced that he can fly one.

Then only you start to really learn.

I went from heavies to jabi and it took me quite a while in the circuit........ but then, I'm not very clever..... :?

Good morning Dawie.

It takes as long as you feel comfortable with the Jab, it took me around 3.5 hours, I was flying Cherokee and Cessna's.

You are not saying which Jab you have a share in, Mine is the SP 470 and this one can be full of beans when you come into land.

Good luck, take your time with this there must be no rush.

The most important thing for every Jabi pilot is to realise that the house ghosts are always right.
The peaceful thread is also mandatory reading for noobs

Wekom Dawie

Mees belangrikste is geduld as jy 'n Jabi vlieg. Die geduld het niks met die Jab te doen nie maar om die huis en ander spoke te kan verdra.

Nee boeta jy kry 4 soorte Jabi snorkers.
1. Die wat dink hulle snork
2. Die wat dink hulle kan snork
3. Die EXPERT snorkers
4. Diegene wat 'n hele toer groep kan wakker hou!!!!!

Die Jabi groep het 'n paar van van die 4de groep. En nou het ek genoeg gesê sonder om myself te inkremineer!!!!
