Unread post by Roger » Mon Oct 22, 2018 9:27 am

Anyone have any estimates on the cost of zeroing a Jabiru 3300 engine?

Hi Roger

Good question. Our J430 is 200hrs away from an overall and I'd also like to get an estimation. I suppose the factory in George will be able to help but last I enquired, they were a bit evasive stating "It all depends on the current condition of engine, SD's that need to be done etc".

Best wishes

Yikes Marius! That's going to hurt. Ours is at 1715hrs. So what would a completely new engine cost then?

From what I hear there is a brand new engine on the market at the price of the old engine.....speak to Len or Les at the factory....I'm guessing.....not good.

Ah the joys of a Jabi. If only one could overhaul a TSIO 360 for $7000. Count your blessings folks.

You would never hear one good word about Jabbies from the TCA gallery......and maybe they are not as "tough" as the Lincosauruses ,but if you look after them they mostly get you home.....on the odd chance of that not happening the airframe and your skill should do the trick. :D

Get a quote from Danie at Rhino Park. He now has the required D license to overhaul. You will be pleasantly surprised. Better still, go visit him  8)
