An Helicopter Operator based in Mpumalanga is seeking the services of a suitably rated and qualified Engineer for their fleet of Bell B206B, Robinson R22,R44, AS350 Helicopters. The Engineers is required to perform schedule and unscheduled maintenance, servicing, corrosion control and inspection with limited to no supervision.

Principle Accountability

- Maintain the helicopter fleet in accordance with the Operators approved maintenance schedule;
- Performs aircraft scheduled/unscheduled on and off equipment maintenance;
- Performs aircraft corrosion control procedures;
- Annotate maintenance actions in aircraft logbooks, task cards, maintenance tracking systems as required;
- Participate in the ordering of aircraft component parts, consumables, rotables etc.
- Supervise/assist in aircraft/equipment movement;
- Practise good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention and SMS at all times;
- Required to perform off-site maintenance/defect rectification;
- Participate in scheduled maintenance planning and procedures;
- Establish/action preventative maintenance procedures and principles;
- Action additional equipment installations regarding STC/Modification approvals through the regulator for operational requirements;

Knowledge and Skills

- Hold a Valid South African Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License as issued by the SA CAA;
- Hold the required ratings/endorsements for Bell B206 series helicopters, as well as Robinson R22/R44 Series Helicopters;
- AS350 Series / Bell UH-1H helicopter rating/endorsement will be an advantage;
- Have a minimum of 10 years experience as a AME;
- Hold the required Soft-Skills courses as required by SA CAA;
- Be medically fit, able to access all helicopter areas as required for maintenance procedures;
- Qualified on ground support equipment applicable to the speciality;
- Able to deal with customer and company employees in a courteous, professional and effective manner;
- Ability to work woth job required hazardous materials;
- Ability to read and interpret data;

Experience and Education

- High School Grade 12 or equivalent;
- Hold a Valid South African Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License as issued by the SA CAA;
- Hold the required ratings/endorsements for Bell B206 series helicopters, as well as Robinson R22/R44 Series Helicopters;
- AS350 Series / Bell UH-1H helicopter rating/endorsement will be an advantage;
- Have a minimum of 10 years experience as a AME;
- Have a minimum of 12 years aviation experience;
- Have a minimum of 5 year aviation management experience;
- Hold the required Soft-Skills courses as required by SA CAA;
- Completion of formal maintenance training on assigned aircraft is desired;

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

- May work in Aircraft maintenance hangar or outside;
- May be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, including extreme weather conditions and rudimentary infrastructure;
- May be exposed to extreme noise from turbine and piston engine aircraft;
- May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, may be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts, vehicles, or aircraft;
- Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day;
- Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands;
- Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp, or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders;
- May be required to lift up to 25Kg;
- May be required to see aircraft in flight, read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools;
- Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales;
- Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear;
- Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth;
- May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, fork lift, APU, etc.
