VP1 in progress

Unread post by P Pilot » Sun Mar 26, 2017 6:47 pm

Hello fellow VP enthusiasts,

I recently acquired a very well built project that is requiring completion. I thought I could keep this as a build thread to show my progress.

At this point, the fuselage is all covered, just requiring some final inspections and engine installation, panel and so on.

The wings are complete. I've been going through them just to ensure all is done and finishing some small jobs, then they'll be ready for covering.

I'm quite excited for the project and will try and keep this up to date.

Happy building, and flying!

P Pilot

Hi Mark,

I've got a HAPI conversion VW which was taken out of a Rutan Quickie. I think it'll work quite nicely.

Work has started again!

The right wing is pretty much ready for the struts and then to be covered. Need to get the wings on to the fuselage and get everything set up for the struts to get cut and welded up.

Progress...

Good to see someone at least working on their VP =D>, I don't see holes for and aft of the cockpit for the struts to attach to do you still have to make them? or attachment points for the wings??

Not too bad to be building tiger wings!

I'm trying to get my head around covering mine - a bit daunting...

Big day yesterday:

I haven't had the wings on before and with some help, put them on the VP yesterday. Very happy that everything lined up nicely which means I can now get the struts made up.

Nice little aerie with everything on!
