Rudi I do envy you builders. I realized very soon into my own project that I do not have what it takes to be a builder.

I envy a true builder's dedication and dissipline, something I lack outside my daily life.....

Give me business, give me sales no problem, but building takes a special type of breed.

I salute you buildets Sir! =D>

Watching your build with great interest.
This little Fokker was a real major step (never mind a royal pain to some) and virtually none survived after the war. Hope I can see her fly one day...

Must say, this is probably the most interesting thread on avcom. Truly embodies the passion for flying.
Keep up the good work.

Hi Guys, thank you for the kind comments! I am really enjoying this build, much more than the RV builds.

Just a notice, we are taking some R & R and an Air Safari to Mozambique & Islands for 17 days, so expect an interruption and the regular updates will continue on 16 Oct.

Rudi, this build looks incredible!

After meeting and flying with you about 4 years back shortly before pulling the trigger on an RV-7, I had to hang up my wings for a while.

Now, nicely settled in Ireland, and looking for a project that'll keep me busy and not take too long to get through, Airdrome are going to be getting an order from me soon.

My only real concern is the useful load on all of Airdrome's aircraft. Heaven knows I'm not a small boy, but will investigate further.

Also, I need to open discussions with the ILAS about getting the aircraft (hopefully a Pup or Camel) approved over here.

Definitely subscribed to this thread from now on!

Hi Rudi.
I trust you are enjoying the break. Having met you at Springs and flew with, in your RV, was amazing. I have also visited The Coves and there are some incredible activities taking place. I would suggest members make an appointment and fly or drive there, to see what is happening there.
I follow this thread, as and when possible. I would think that Mr X is also following this thread and are happy with you educating the aviation community in this manner. He may have had similar dreams, but I don't think the environment was this advanced or mature, when he acquired the kit, at that time.
Enjoy the built and I am looking forward to making an appointment and visiting The Coves again on one of my rotations.
Greetings

Build the Dream, Live the legend, Fly your Own Fighter!
Week 20: [Total Project Time=285.0H]

Good Afternoon Av8tors,

I made significant progress over the December holidays and put another 103 hours towards the project. Things now slow down as one need to figure out things, research, plan and get materials to manufacture. Compared to a RV kit, this needs a lot of research and head scratching, sourcing and manufacturing, where with a RV kit all the think work is done for you and just have to read, pick the part out the box and assemble. Don't get me wrong, I am still enjoying this challenge because manufacturing an airplane like this is a different kind of rewarding feeling then assembling a mechano based RV kit.

Below are some pictures of what happened this past 4 weeks.

Kind Regards
Rudi
