First Blackhawk in South Africa!

Unread post by rotorbug » Fri Oct 06, 2017 4:34 pm

First Blackhawk in South Africa and only the second civilian Blackhawk outside the USA.

Congrats to Leading edge Aviation in Nelspruit!

A big first in so many ways for Aviation in South Africa!

I thought they may get one already customized for fire work.
That's a bit of a fixer upper, hope the CAA are helpful getting it airborne.

Probably, but looks like to big for a container. Airfreight should have worked but expensive I suppose.

Should fit in a 40ft container just fine. They're long, but not that wide.

Just curious as to what makes this former US Army Black Hawk a 'Firehawk'?
What is the changes from it's former Army life? As far as I can see it doesn't have the external watertanks as on the LA based Firehawks I have seen.
