New Tempe or Bloemfontein

Unread post by abezzi » Thu Aug 23, 2012 4:40 pm

I'm planning next week flight back from Rhino, maybe I'll have to go to George instead of direct Cape Town, I see that FABL has cheap fuel, but landing fee and maybe some delay because of arrival/departure, what about New Tempe? Any tip is well accepted! 8)

Bloem is fine, I stop there if I need to refuel for George

It is quiet and you taxi straight to the pumps - no delays

Always use Bloem Int, landing fees not that bad, agree with Ben on the ease of refueling, and they have a half decent restaurant 8) No maintenance facility :(

If you intend to overnight, use New Tempe, good tie down facilities, and there is a signboard of a close by lodge ?Kokkoriba? that will pick you and drop you at the airfield. Good maintenance on the field available.

Come to think of it, if you absolutely have to have Mogas, I would still fly into Bloem International, take my collapsible bladder tanks out the plane, and grab a taxi from the front door. For 100 bucks they will take you to town and back to refill them, there is a large high volume filling station about 5 kms from the airport
